The gasoline filter is responsible for retaining the micro-particles that come with the fuel. Their filtration is key to taking care of wear in fuel pumps and they achieve the best possible combustion.
HOW ARE THE FUEL FILTERS COMPOSED?
Filtering the fuel is not easy at all, so from the zero moment of its manufacture it is sought that the filter is not internally contaminated by particles that can affect the operation of our vehicle in general.
For this, the EURO 5 standard must be respected, which indicates that there cannot be particles larger than 5 microns in the environment. The EURO 6 standard requires its manufacturers to have particles no larger than 1.5 microns
They are made of special paper or polyester fiber.
There are 2 types of fuel filters and they are called star fuel filters or spiral fuel filters.

GASOLINE FILTERS IN STAR
It allows a higher degree of filtration and a higher degree of purity in the fuel in the injection systems.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T CHANGE MY GASOLINE FILTER FOR A LONG TIME?
Failure to follow the fuel filter maintenance guidelines can lead to lack of power, engine failure caused by lack of fuel flow, damage to injection components because particles can get into them.
WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE MY GASOLINE FILTER?
It is important to respect the times indicated in the manual of your vehicle, but as a recommendation in vehicles that are idle for more than 3 months, both gasoline and diesel, it is also recommended to replace the filters to avoid the formation of paraffin or any component that is harmful to the system .
MANUFACTURING PROCESSES OF A FUEL INJECTION FILTER

The process begins with the injection of plastic casings that can be made of non-conductive nylon to avoid static energy.
Then the filter element composed of special paper is added to filter fuel capable of retaining particles in the order of 5 to 10 microns.
It is folded into a star shape, then passed through a high-temperature oven to cure the paper and placed inside the housings.
Finally, it is closed by friction in a special machine, sealing and ending the filter element.
